Description

General

This Heuristic Evaluation round was for fixing any glaring problems with the prototype before we used it for the final man-on-the-street user testing.

Findings

  • Using the label "Graph Elements" for the area to select different divisions and years was unconventional. Usually "Graph Elements" refers to components on the graph like legend, titles and axis labels.
  • Errors should be prevented by not allowing end date to be set earlier than start date.
  • Displaying the list of metrics that was selected below the metric tree browser provided good feedback to users.
  • The label "Change %" was different from the word they used in their reports. They used "% change".
  • The error messages were very good feedback to the users, when certain graphs were impossible to create.
